Bush Hill Heritage Festival
Sat. Sept 13 -
9am to 4pm
This festival was born in 1986 as
the bicentennial celebration of the Quaker settling known as Bush
Hill.
The heritage is proud and strong
and carries with it a tradition of excellence in all this community
has become. The festival explodes with the hopes and dreams of this
community - from a chamber of commerce which works passionately to
ensure its viability to children laughing and adults devouring
homemade ice cream and barbecue. It's wonderful. The benefits of the
festival are evident throughout the year. Local civic
groups and organizations use the festival as a fund-raiser and in
turn, invest their earnings back into the community through special
projects.
Churches use the festival as an
outreach, the fire department offers fire safety education, the
library touts its services and the list goes on.
The streets have changed just a bit
since 1786, but the people remain the steadfast in friendship and
faith. Keep the tradition alive and enjoy meeting friends you
haven't seen since last year's festival. Last year's festival saw
230 vendors lining the streets of Archdale with their wares. This
year, the Archdale-Trinity Chamber of Commerce is
expecting over 260 vendors who will be selling all types of food,
homemade crafts, artwork, raffle tickets, pottery, baskets and more.
